Cymba rolls out mobile regular giving service

Mobile marketing specialist Cymba is extending the availability of its regular giving service Connected™, an SMS text message-based platform that allows mobile phone users to set up and control donations to charity.

Connected was launched in January 2011 and has since raised over £275,000 for charities including Christian Aid, NSPCC and World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). Previously available through a limited pilot, Connected is now being offered directly to all charities and marketing agencies who are interested in exploring a mobile-based alternative to direct debit.

Connected allows supporters to set up a regular donation by sending an SMS text to a short code number. Connected gives supporters control over their donations using a feature called SKIP™, which allows supporters to skip a monthly donation simply by sending a text message. Connected also allows charities to deliver images, video and marketing content directly to a supporter’s mobile device. It boasts a low rate of donor attrition, with as many as 90 per cent of supporters using Connected still making donations after 14 months.
